# Triple E RV Repair and the Cross Border Parts Timeline

> Triple E builds in **Winkler, Manitoba**, so a molded panel crosses a border before it reaches a California bay. Chassis parts for **Sprinter and Transit** come from local networks and stay quick.

## What should Triple E owners expect from a repair timeline?

Triple E RV repair splits into a fast half and a slow half. Sprinter and Transit chassis parts arrive locally, while coach panels ship from Winkler, Manitoba with customs processing added. We build that into the day count quoted at our Yorba Linda shop for Rancho Santa Margarita owners.

- Unity and Serenity use the Sprinter 3500 cab chassis
- Wonder is built on the Ford Transit platform
- Coach parts cross an international border on freight
- Chassis parts come from Mercedes and Ford networks here

### Key facts

| Item | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Built in | Winkler, Manitoba, Canada |
| Chassis | Mercedes Sprinter 3500 and Ford Transit |
| Body rate | $210 per hour |
| Schedule variable | Customs plus freight on coach panels |
| Estimate | $150 (Credited in full against an authorized repair) |

Triple E makes some of the better small coaches on the road, and it makes them in Manitoba. For an owner in south Orange County that is a detail with a real consequence: any panel that has to come from the factory crosses a border, and borders add days that have nothing to do with how busy our bays are.

Everything else about these coaches is favorable. Sprinter and Transit chassis support is excellent, the units are compact enough to fit any bay, and the interiors are well built. The work is planning the parts, then doing the job properly.

## Planning around a border, not complaining about it

A molded rear cap or a painted skirt panel from Winkler moves by freight and then through customs. Neither step is unusual and both are predictable if somebody accounts for them at the start. What causes problems is a shop that quotes a domestic timeline and then discovers the border in week two.

We ask the availability question before writing the scope and we quote the day count with customs included. If the wait is unacceptable, the alternative is usually repairing the panel on the coach, which we will price side by side so you can choose rather than be told.

## The Sprinter and Transit half is straightforward

A Unity or Serenity is built on a Sprinter 3500 cab chassis, and a Wonder on a Ford Transit. Cab structure, glass, lighting and body panels for both are supported by dense local networks. Structural correction follows the chassis maker's control points and procedures rather than generic recreational vehicle practice.

That distinction matters on a unibody derived platform. Pulling to a factory dimension with correct anchoring keeps doors, sliding rails and glass openings within tolerance. Approximating it produces a coach with a door that no longer seals, which is a complaint we hear about work done elsewhere.

## Murphy beds, lounges and interior mechanisms

Triple E floor plans use convertible furniture heavily, and those mechanisms are the interior repairs we see most. A Murphy bed lifts against gas struts on brackets fastened into cabinetry, and after several thousand cycles the fasteners loosen and the geometry drifts. The bed then binds or drops faster than it should.

Repair means reinforcing the mounting rather than replacing the strut and hoping. We reset the brackets into sound structure, add backing where the original fastening was marginal, then re establish travel and strut geometry. That is mechanical work at $260 per hour and it usually takes less than a day.

## Lower body damage from driveways and grades

These coaches have long rear overhangs relative to their wheelbase, so a steep driveway apron catches the rear skirt and the lower rear cap. In hilly parts of south Orange County that is the most common cosmetic damage on the nameplate, and it usually takes a light mount or a sensor with it.

The repair is laminate and refinish work plus resetting whatever was mounted in the damaged area. We also flag the geometry, because an owner who scrapes the same driveway monthly will be back. Sometimes the honest recommendation is a different approach angle rather than another repair.

## How we handle these files

Body and laminate work is $210 per hour, mechanical and electrical $260, diagnostics $285 with a one hour minimum credited against an authorized repair. A written estimate is $150 on the same terms. Parts over $100 carry 35 percent markup, and special order items require full payment at order, which matters more than usual when a part is crossing a border.

OCRV Center is an independent shop with no agreement of any kind with Triple E RV. All work is performed in shop at Yorba Linda. For a compact coach that is an easy visit: these units fit standard bays and do not need the long booth slot a 40 foot Class A requires.

## Questions and answers

### How much time does a Manitoba built part add to a repair?

Enough that it belongs in the estimate rather than as a surprise. Freight from Winkler plus customs processing adds days beyond a domestic order. We confirm availability and transit before quoting a delivery date, and we price the repair alternative alongside the replacement so you can choose.

### Are Sprinter chassis repairs on a Unity handled locally?

Yes, and that half of the job is straightforward. Cab structure, glass, lighting and body panels come from the Mercedes network, and structural correction follows published control points. Only the coach body behind the cab depends on the Canadian parts channel.

### Can a Murphy bed that binds be fixed without replacing it?

Usually. The problem is normally loose or pulled mounting rather than a failed strut. We reset the brackets into sound structure, add backing where the original fastening was marginal, then re establish travel and strut geometry. That is a same day mechanical repair in most cases.

### Why does my rear skirt keep scraping on driveways?

Long rear overhang relative to wheelbase. On a steep apron the rear contacts before the wheels are level. Repair fixes the damage, but the geometry does not change, so we also talk about approach angle. Owners who keep scraping the same driveway keep paying for the same repair.

### Do you work on Regency Class B conversions as well?

Yes. Regency units are van conversions on Sprinter and Ram platforms, so the chassis side is locally supported and the conversion side follows the same cross border parts logic. Interior and electrical work on those builds is mechanical department work at $260 per hour.
